'Red Dawn' Star Lea Thompson turns 51-Movie Remake to be Released This Year

Back in 1984 'Red Dawn' featured a cast of rising hot stars like Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey, C. Thomas Howell and Charlie Sheen, Thompson was in good company as one of the rebel "Wolverines" she just celebrated her 51st birthday.  Before Lea Thompson rose to fame as Marty McFly's mom in the "Back to the Future" flicks, she was one of the teenagers facing off against evil Soviets in the classic "Red Dawn."
Since starring in the flick, her third major motion picture after "Jaws 3" and "All the Right Moves," Thompson has gone on to star in hit movies and TV shows -- including the "Future" flicks, "Caroline in the City" and current ABC Family show "Switched at Birth."
With a remake of "Red Dawn" coming later this year starring Chris Hemsworth, I wonder if it can even come close to being as good as the original.

A Couple Things about Katt's Taxi Drivers

As a dispatcher at times I receive both complaint and compliment where the drivers are concerned.
Those rare complaints are swiftly dealt with and at times may even cost a driver their job.
Compliments are instantly passed to the driver upon receipt and we all move on.

Here are a few of those compliments worth mentioning:

"Your driver found and returned my cell phone without charge; he did take a small gratuity. Thank You!"

"Your driver carried my laundry up two flights of stairs making two trips; I wish I had more than a dollar to tip him." Thank you all so much!"

"Your driver saved my life. He saw me sliding into the intersection unable to stop. He halted, stopping traffic behind him as I skidded through the red light and into the intersection! I was unharmed, thank you, thank you!"

"Your driver stayed in the driveway lighting up my path with his headlights until I was up the walk and into the house. He then backed out and left. I hadn't even tipped him, he did it anyway. Thank you so much!"

“What a wild party! I couldn't even remember how I got home last night. After looking through my coat pockets I found a Katt's Taxi business card. Thank you Katt's!"

"Are you the Manager? Good. Last night I accidentally over payed your driver, she caught the mistake, pulled back into my driveway and returned the extra twenty. That was very cool of her, thank her again for me please!"

“Your driver saw that I was having car trouble and stopped to ask if he could assist. I borrowed his cell phone and called for a tow truck. I asked what I owed him, his response was,’ No charge.' Thanks again Katts!"

This is the cut of a Katt's Taxi driver, thanks guys.

My Daughter KD: A Father's Reward is His Daughter's Good Intent; I am Proud!

This is my daughter KD (senior AHS). She has my heart and is quickly gaining my pride and respect as an adult. She is not a bragger nor a showoff; I do hope she isn't offended that I take it on myself to brag to the world about her!
I feel I have the right.
I am her father.
This following article recognises her for saving a life!

Stargazers: Venus Transit of the Sun 2012

The next transit of Venus occurs June 5 or 6. Key highlights include the four "contacts" near the beginning and end of the transit when Venus appears to touch the edge of the sun.  Most of North America sees the beginning of the transit in the afternoon and evening on June 5, whereas much of Eurasia sees the end of the transit in the morning on June 6., 2012, depending on your location.

Locations and dates of best viewing of Venus transit
If you miss this opportunity to view the transit there won't be another chance until 2017.
